Wedding season 2026–27: why you should lock in aviation logistics now

By Aditya Rao · Head of Charter Operations, FlightKlub

By the time most couples start thinking about aviation logistics, the best aircraft for their dates are already booked. Here's the planning window that actually works.

India's wedding season — broadly October through February — overlaps almost exactly with private aviation's peak season, which (as covered in our pricing guide) reduces aircraft availability and can push pricing 15–25% above off-peak rates. That's a double squeeze: the same weekends every couple wants are the weekends every operator's fleet is most stretched. If your wedding date falls in this window, aviation logistics deserve an earlier place on the planning timeline than most couples give them.

Why aviation logistics need a longer lead time than the venue

Venues and major vendors are usually locked in 6–12 months out, and couples often assume aircraft can be sorted closer to the date — but operator fleets for popular wedding weekends (especially November and December Saturdays) get committed early precisely because so many weddings compete for the same dates. Waiting until 4–6 weeks out means choosing from whatever's left, not what's ideal for your guest list and route.

What needs to be planned

  • Guest shuttle aircraft — group charters for guests converging from multiple cities of origin
  • Bridal party jet — often a separate, smaller aircraft on its own schedule
  • Baraat helicopter entrance — needs venue helipad clearance confirmed in advance
  • Return-trip coordination — getting out-of-town guests home, often the more time-pressured leg
  • Multi-aircraft fleet coordination for larger weddings with simultaneous arrivals

A realistic planning timeline

4–6 months out: lock your wedding dates and get a rough headcount and list of guest cities of origin to us — even approximate numbers let us flag availability for your dates. 2–3 months out: confirm aircraft selection and finalise the guest manifest and cities of departure. 2–4 weeks out: finalise passenger manifests, ground transport coordination at each end, and any helipad logistics for a baraat entrance.

What happens if you wait too long

It's rarely impossible — FlightKlub sources from 40+ operators across India, so we can usually find something even close to the date. But the closer to the wedding, the fewer aircraft choices remain for your specific routes, and pricing on short-notice peak-season requests tends to sit at the higher end of the range. Starting the conversation early simply gives you more options and better rates for the same outcome.

Even if your wedding date is months away and details are still unsettled, start the conversation now — a rough date and guest-city list is enough for us to flag availability and give you a sense of what's possible before the peak-season crunch sets in.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should we book private jets/helicopters for a wedding?

For weddings during peak season (October–February), 4–6 months ahead is ideal for the initial conversation, with aircraft selection confirmed 2–3 months out. Popular November–December weekends get booked earliest, so the sooner you flag your dates, the more options remain.

Can FlightKlub coordinate multiple aircraft for guests arriving from different cities?

Yes — this is one of the most common wedding requests. We coordinate multi-aircraft fleets so guests from different cities of origin arrive on a schedule that works for the wedding timeline, not just whatever's available individually.

Is a helicopter baraat entrance possible at most wedding venues?

It depends on the venue having a suitable helipad or open space that can be cleared for landing, which needs to be confirmed with the venue in advance. We coordinate this as part of wedding planning — flag it early so there's time to confirm venue clearance.

Does wedding season pricing cost more than other times of year?

Generally yes — October to March is peak season for private aviation in India (wedding season plus winter travel), which typically runs 15–25% above off-peak pricing due to reduced availability. Booking early doesn't eliminate this, but it does mean more aircraft choices at the prevailing rate rather than a scramble among whatever's left.
