Talk to us
Empty legs are released at short notice and taken quickly. Most clients give us a route and a one-to-two week window, and we call when something lands.
What is an empty leg?
When a private jet is chartered from Mumbai to Goa, it needs to return to Mumbai. That return flight — with no passengers — is the "empty leg." The operator would fly it empty either way, so they'd rather offer it at a reduced price than fly with zero revenue.
FlightKlub monitors the repositioning schedules across our operator network — 40+ aircraft across India — and matches available empty legs to clients with matching routes.
The catch
Empty legs are not guaranteed — they depend on other bookings. Routes and times are fixed. They suit flexible travellers, not those with rigid schedules.

FAQ
An empty leg (also called a repositioning flight or deadhead flight) occurs when a private jet needs to fly empty to pick up passengers at another location, or return to its base after dropping passengers. The aircraft would fly empty regardless — so operators may offer these flights below normal charter prices to offset costs.
Empty legs can be priced well below the standard one-way charter price, but there is no fixed discount. The saving depends on the route, the aircraft type, how soon the operator needs to move the aircraft and whether the flight is still available. Ask for a written quote for the specific flight.
Empty leg availability changes daily and is impossible to predict far in advance. WhatsApp FlightKlub with your preferred route and travel window — we monitor our operator network in real time and alert you when a matching empty leg becomes available. Most clients give us a 1–2 week window.
Empty legs are not ideal if you need guaranteed departure times. Since the flight is tied to another booking, changes to the primary charter can affect your departure. Routes and times are also not flexible — you fly the available sector, not your preferred one. Empty legs suit travellers with route flexibility and a loose schedule.
The highest-volume empty leg corridors in India are: Mumbai–Goa and return (weekend leisure charters), Mumbai–Delhi and return (business charters), Delhi–Jaipur (wedding season), and Bangalore–Hyderabad. Internationally, India–Dubai has significant empty leg volume given the high frequency of charters.
You cannot choose the aircraft on an empty leg — you fly whatever is repositioning on your route. However, FlightKlub shares full aircraft details (type, cabin, capacity, photos) before you confirm. Most empty legs in India use Citation CJ2, King Air 350, or Challenger 300 class aircraft.
Yes. An empty leg is the same aircraft, same pilots, and same operator as a standard charter — the only difference is you may get a lower price because the aircraft is flying anyway. All FlightKlub operators are DGCA-certified.
